I can’t believe that it’s already January again : ) Its 2014 this time, and I have a very good feeling that this year is going be awesome. There are so many exciting things already on the cards…Cape Town is deservedly the World Design Capital 2014 (which means there will be lots of fun to be had and beautiful things to look at in the mother city), Handmade By Me has some new product and design ideas in the pipeline (plus I am going to start painting again which I cannot wait to do), some of my best friends are finally moving back home to this beautiful city, some of my best friends are getting married, beautiful babies are on their way, and most importantly I am getting married to the love of my life and I can’t wait!!!
There is a lot to be excited for this year!
And with that I wish you all a fantastically happy and healthy year ahead!
To mark the first Handmade By Me blogpost of 2014, I thought I would leave you with this little article I discovered by surprise in the latest issue of Ideas magazine. It’s an article all about blogs, and my little Handmade By Me blog which I started right in the beginning, before I even had products to show you so I filled it with soup recipes, has been featured alongside some great local well known and established blogs. I am honoured!
Happy new year to all my lovely followers and to any new visitors! Wishing you all an exciting and successful year ahead. I hope that this going to be a great year for all of us. I definitely have high hopes for Handmade By Me 2013 and I am so excited that I can share it all with you right here…..sooooo watch this space! Please also note that Handmade By Me has a facebook page and its the place where I post about everything! To become a follower and keep up to date with all kinds of exciting new products, photos and plans, big or small, click here.
And we are starting off the year with some exciting news about a big new Handmade By Me online stockist, 5 Rooms. 5 Rooms is South Africa’s online home and living store, and is your one stop shop for furniture, homewares, accessories, appliances and décor. They offer free delivery for any orders over R250 which is fantastic for any cushions, cushion covers and aprons, plus great return options if you decide they’re not for you. Either way you are going to love browsing through all the lovely items which boast both international and local designer brands.
And I still can’t believe it! It feels like soooo long ago when I started this blog, even then I remembered thinking it probably won’t even last till then…I really can’t believe how far Handmade By Me, as a brand and as a business, has come since then. I went back and looked at some of the first blogposts I wrote, in one of them I said “Fabric designing and printing is something that really interests me and if I want to start making my own fabric for the cushions, I am also going to have to learn to sew them myself.” I laughed! Who would have thought then, that I would be where I am today! Then I laughed even more at the item I actually sewed ha ha!
Anyways I just want to thank everyone who follows my blog so much, I really appreciate the support and even if you are reading this for the first time, the fact that people come here and see whats going on and have a look at what I am doing means a lot to me.
And being the 1st day of year no 2, I couldn’t be prouder than to show you this article featured in the November issue of South African Garden And Home. I still can’t believe that there’s a photo of me in there, but I feel really encouraged to continue with what I am doing, who knows where I’ll be in another year’s time.
