When I first saw the September issue of Tuis and Home magazines, I was just so excited to see what they had gotten up to on their shoot with our products, I had no idea it would turn out this beautiful (check out the placemats in the recipe section) or that they would feature so many of our products!! There is just so much beautiful Handmade By Me lovin’ going on here we just had to share it all with you…
This wasn’t actually a product feature (below), but how cool was it to discover our Pretty Proteas cushion sitting all comfy on the couch of this beautiful sustainable house in Bo-Kaap!
And then this… (sigh). See which products you can spot of ours…
We spotted our China Plate, Fly Away Birds and Pretty Proteas placemats, our Striking Strelitzia napkins and our Fly Away Birds tea towel. All available for you to try and recreate this beautiful feast in your own home, from the Handmade By Me online shop : )
Firstly, in conjunction with First Thursdays Cape Town, SAM (our awesome stockist on Bree St…as if you didn’t already know?) would like to invite you to join them for a drink and to pop in for the opening of their latest exhibition in the shop, “South African Bike Builders”.
And on a completely different note, it seems Handmade By Me scatter cushions really seem to be on trend this summer. Here, Essentials magazine has featured both my fly away birds and my birdy num num cushions as part of their “5 hot trends for your home” this January. Ah g’wan!
I found this lovely piece of writing (below) somewhere in the realm of facebook, and thought that it was the closest thing I have seen yet, which appropriately describes what supporting local designers and makers and their handmade products is all about. It really rings true to me as a maker of products, and the sentiment is very sweet. Unfortunately I could not find the person to credit directly, so please, if any of you know, will you let me know so that I can say thank you for these lovely words.
And with that I would love to share with you this beautiful shoot that Home en Tuis Magazine did with my lovely stockist The Green Elephant Collective. It came out so beautifully, and it really goes to show that you don’t have to completely redo your home to give it a make over.
SA Decor & Design recently featured a lovely blogpost about me and my fabrics, and this then led to the idea of us having a little competition where you can win a handmade by me lampshade in the design of your choice : )
All you have to do is LIKE and SHARE each post that SA Decor & Design put up for the Lampshades and comment on your favourite design from Handmade by Me.
If you read the lovely Good Taste magazine you may have seen a small feature on me and Handmade by Me in the “Latest Looks” section which features “all the newest decor and design trends” yay I couldn’t be more delighted! and they featured my favourite Fly Away Birds cushion cover : )
Here is a closeup of my Fly Away Birds Cushion Cover…
Firstly I would like to say a big thanks to everyone who ordered a handmade by me surprise with presents in the post! This is now closed and all orders will be making their way out to you : ) For anyone who missed out on this, check out presents in the post here, they have different designers featuring each month and I know for certain that there are some awesome one’s lined up!
And here are some closeups of the fly away birds cushion cover, also available in tea towels, napkins, tote bags, purses, aprons, lampshades and wallpaper.
And here is a closeup of the space rocket solar system wallpaper, also available in cushion covers and lampshades…don’t you think this design would make an awesome bedside lamp for a little boy’s room…
…for everyone!! They’re pretty, and popular and pretty good pricewise! You can use them for money, for makeup, for pens and pencils, for the odd bits and pieces you always lose in your handbag, or for whatever great reason you can (make up) think of. These are my new tote bags’ best friend! You may have noticed them on my market tables for the last few months, and I have finally had a chance to shoot them properly….soooo here you go…
AND I am even more excited to let it slip that they will very soon be available from my very own South African Handmade By Me online shop! Yay!!!!! I’m afraid I can’t reveal much more than that for now….but as always…watch this space!
