It’s almost holiday time!

Just a quick little hello to wish you all a happy Christmas (if you celebrate) and all the very best for the festive season ahead…and most importantly a happy, HEALTHY and stress-free 2021. Its been the craziest year, and Covid is really picking up around here again, so instead of trying to squeeze this insane year into one final newsletter, I am going to wait until I finally have some time in the new year to thoughtfully go through all our favourite projects (at least the ones that didn’t get cancelled) which I will share with you here.

As the year draws to a close, so will my little #coronacommissions series – I have 3 more to do and then I’ll have done 30 paintings for charity this year 🎉👊 It’s been a wild ride so thank you to everyone for all your wonderful support. Here are the next 6 paintings in the series.

You can view the full Coronacommission postcard series here, or on Instagram.

And because we all need a bit of cheering up this time of year, I am going to leave you with some photos of #mypinkseries which was an exploration into the delicious and varying textures of oil paint.

Some of these are available to purchase, or get in touch if you are interested in a commission 🤗

Happy holidays and stay safe out there!!

My first 10 Coronacommissions

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all the support for my Coronacommissions Postcard Series that I am busy working on to help raise funds for South Africans in need during the Covid 19 Pandemic.

I have finished my first 10 paintings (shared below) and I have another 5 to go before the first round is complete. Just a reminder that all proceeds have been donated straight to charity, and so far we have raised much needed funds for Ladles of Love, Coronacare and Care for Wild (because Rhinos need our help during this time too).

The paintings have been such fun to do, and I am really enjoying the challenge. And I am totally overwhelmed by the amazing response to them. I am busy confirming another round so please get in touch if you are interested.

You can follow my series on Instagram using the hashtag #coronacommissionspostcardseries or use #coronacommissions see which other artists are doing something similar in their own styles.

Wishing you all a great week ahead!

Lesotho Landscape…

This is a design for fabric which I created last year for a local fashion designer from Lesotho, who was planning to represent Lesotho in a few international fashion shows later in the year. I recently unfortunately found out that they are no longer going ahead with the shows, but I wanted to share this design with you anyway because I really had such fun working on it.

The design was meant to represent the landscape of the country of Lesotho, and was mostly inspired by the rolling hills and the well known Maletsunya Falls. I also included all kinds of local fauna and flora including Lammergeier birds, Impala lilies, Peach trees and lots of different types of Aloes, as well as some of the other things you might find in the area such as little villages and lots of cows. Isn’t Lesotho just such a beautiful little part of the world?

The idea was that the design would be printed at a massive scale so it would become slightly abstract when used on smaller areas of some of the garments.

An example of how some of the smaller crops of the design would look

I hope to be able to share some more projects and design commissions that I have been working on recently soon, so watch this space for updates.

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead!
